Emergency surgeries

Patients with neuropsychiatric disorders/vision disorders

Any treatment that affect psychological status

Sedative premedication before shifting to preoperative room

Patients who speak language other than Hindi or English

Patients or guardians refusing informed consent

Incidence of preoperative anxiety using Modified Yale <br/ ><br>Preoperative Anxiety Scale, mYPAS in children undergoing elective surgeries at the following time intervals :- <br/ ><br>a) preoperative period defined as half hour before surgery in the preoperative room <br/ ><br>b) at parental separation while shifting to the OR <br/ ><br>c)induction of anesthesia <br/ ><br>2. Effect of an interactive distraction in the form of a hand-held <br/ ><br>Video game in decreasing preoperative anxiety at all of the above three time intervalsTimepoint: 18 months
