Expected prolonged CPB duration ( >2 hours)
Valve surgery, CABG and CABG with valve on-pump
Written informed consent
Exclusion Criteria
Age <18 years or >65 years
Known allergy to N-Acetylcystine
Emergency cardiac surgery
Known blood borne infectious disease
Existing deranged LFT
End stage renal disease
Planned off-pump cardiac surgery
