(a) 18 years or older, (b) Dari-speaking, help-seeking Afghan asylumseeker, (c) being on a waiting-list for trauma-specific treatment in a specialized facility and (d) positive screening on a screening questionnaire for common mental disorders in refugees: a score of 12 or higher on the RHS-15 or a score of 5 or higher on the distress thermometer of the RHS-15.
Exclusion criteria are: (a) acute suicide risk, (b) presenting with a severe mental disorder (e.g. psychotic disorders, substance dependence) or severe cognitive impairment (e.g. moderate to severe intellectual disability or dementia), based on definitions in the mhGAP Intervention Guide.
