Inclusion Criteria
Patients:
- Presence of a severe single or recurrent depressive disorder with or without psychotic symptoms (according to ICD 10: F32.2, F32.3, F33.2, F33.3)
- ability to give consent
Healthy controls:
- Ability to give consent
Exclusion Criteria
Patients:
- Presence of a severe somatic or neurological disease
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Healthy controls:
- Presence of a psychiatric, severe somatic or neurological disease
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method At the time of a high symptom load: cMRI, blood sampling (determination of various inflammation parameters, including interleukins, CRP), questionnaires (including QIDS, MADRS).<br>At the time of remission, but at the latest after 6 months, the same examinations are carried out.<br>In the healthy control subjects, the above-mentioned examinations are performed only once.
