Inclusion Criteria
Patients of American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Physical Status I, II, III and (4) absence of clinical infections or positive urine culture will be included.
Exclusion Criteria
(1) pre-existing heart disorders, (2) long-term use of sedative drugs,steroid (3) fever within one�week (4) undergoing another surgery simultaneously (5) those who failed to be followed up will be excluded.

Name Time Method To assess the inflammatory cytokines markers, TNF and IL-6 after dexmedetomidine infusion in patients undergoing elective abdominal surgeries.Timepoint: at baseline (before surgery) and 24 hrs, 48 hrs & 72 hrs after surgery.
