Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
Influence of covid-19-related olfactory loss on psychological well-being and general life satisfaction, as well as olfactory loss-related changes in sexuality and relationship quality within committed partnerships and influence on relationship quality of patients with their biological children. As primary outcome, we are interested in general life satisfaction as well as mental health (assessed with WHO Wellbeing Index; PHQ-4, Löwe et al., 2010; BDI-II, Hautzinger et al., 2010), relationship quality in partnership (Partnership Satisfaction Questionnaire; Kliem et al., 2012) and in parent-child relationship (PBQ, Brockington et al., 2006). These parameters are collected at all 5 measurement time points by means of questionnaires.

Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
Perception of body odors within the partnership and parent-child relationship (Pleasantness, Intensity, Identification). In an additional experiment after T2 for N = 50 participants, body odors of the partner (N=25) and of the own child (N=25) will be evaluated in comparison to age- and sex-matched body odors of healthy control subjects. The following outcomes will be collected: Identification of body odor (partner/child vs. unknown body odor); pleasantness rating, intensity rating of odor.
