Inclusion Criteria

1. A confirmed (G) permanent diagnosis of polymyalgia rheumatica (ICD-10-GM codes: M35.3 polymyalgia rheumatica or M31.5 giant cell arteritis in polymyalgia rheumatica)
and/or
at least 2 confirmed diagnoses of polymyalgia rheumatica (no permanent diagnoses, ICD-10-GM codes: M35.3 polymyalgia rheumatica and/or M31.5 Giant cell arteritis in polymyalgia rheumatica)
within the period from quarter III/2021 to quarter II/2023.
2. Age = 50 years at the time of data collection.
3. Ability to give consent, i.e. patient is able to assess the significance and scope of participation in the study or: in the absence of capacity to consent, written informed consent by the authorized person (e.g. guardian).

Exclusion Criteria

1. Objection to the data processing for the identification of potential
study participants in the practice management program within the framework of FoPraNet-BW
2. age <50 years at the time of data collection
3. no permanent diagnosis of polymyalgia rheumatica and/or fewer than two confirmed diagnoses (no permanent diagnosis) of polymyalgia rheumatica within the time period from quarter III/2021 to quarter II/2023
4. diagnosis of polymyalgia rheumatica not confirmed (suspected diagnosis (V),
excluded diagnosis (A), or asymptomatic state following the diagnosis in question(Z)).
