Name Time Method The aim of the project is the translation of innovative optical techniques into clinical application to increase surgical accuracy in oncological liver surgery. The project is aimed at the development of methods for the intraoperative detection of intrahepatic tumor cells using hepatocellular carcinomas or colorectal liver metastases as examples. The main focus is on the resection margins immediately after resection. Within the scope of this study, optical devices are developed and initially tested ex situ on liver tissue samples.
