Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
Perceived stress, heart rate variability and QST (Quantitative Sensory Testing).

The acute stress perception is assessed by visual analogue scales (VAS) before and after a standardized social stress test (Trier Social Stress Test); heart rate variability is monitored by ECG; Quantitative Sensory Testing was performed with a QST-Kit.
Chronic Stress Levels are assessed by the Trier Inventory for Chronic Stress (TICS), stressful childhood experiences by the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ).
Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
Pruritus intensity, Intraepidermal nerve fiber density, associations to anxiety and Depression.

Pruritus intensity is measured before and after the stress test by visual analogue scale;
Intraepidermal nerve fiber density is assessed by biopsy, coloration and by microscope;
anxiety and Depression are assessed by the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS).
