1.Bilateral fully erupted permanent first molars with deep pits
and fissures.
2. Functional teeth as in having occluded teeth.
3. The caries status needed to have the same score on both
teeth. The criteria were evaluated according to the International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS)20. The teeth included were sound (ICDAS 0) to non-cavitated distinct visual change in enamel lesions (ICDAS 1,2)
1.Permanent first molars with enamel defects such as enamel
hypoplasia
2.Permanent first molars with restoration
3.Permanent first molars with proximal carious lesions
4.Patients who did not fully cooperate on the procedure of
both teeth
