简要总结
The study aims to evaluate the impact of timed walking breaks during work hours on reducing sedentary behaviour among office workers in bangalore, India. This intervention involves hourly walking breaks, totalling 45 minutes per day, to decrease sitting time at work. The primary objective is to measure the reduction in occupational sedentary time. Secondary objectives include assessing its effects on anthropometric measurements, quality of life, cognitive function, and work performance. Additionally, the study will explore the role of social media nudges provided through an mhealth app in improving adherence to the intervention. The need for this study arises from the high levels of sedentary behaviour among Indian office workers, which pose significant health risks. The novelty lies in its focus on the Indian context and the integration of social media through an mhealth app to enhance engagement with the intervention, addressing a gap in existing research on reducing workplace sedentary behaviour in this population.
