Inclusion Criteria

1. ASA grade 1 and 2

2. BMI 18-30 kg/sq metre.

3. Patient of either sex scheduled to undergo

elective surgery requiring general anaesthesia.

4. Duration of Surgery: upto 120 minutes.

Exclusion Criteria

1. Patient refusal

2. Neuropsychiatric disorder or on chronic use of psychoactive medications.

3. Renal dysfunction.

4. Known or suspected EEG abnormalities-Epilepsy,previous brain surgery.

5. ASA Grade 3 and 4

6. Obesity (BMI >30)

7. Pregnant and lactating females.

8. History of alcohol and drug abuse.
