Inclusion Criteria
At least 12 natural teeth present,Patients diagnosed with chronic periodontitis clinically & radiographically,Pocket probing depth (PPD) >= 5 mm,Willingness to comply with the study protocol.
Exclusion Criteria
Existing systemic disease that may influence the severity and/or progression of
periodontitis.
Patients with known/suspected allergy to statins.
Patients on systemic statin therapy.
Patients with a history of smoking and alcohol consumption.
Systemic administration or local application of antibiotics within the previous six months.
Oral debridement has been rendered within the previous 6 months.Pregnancy or lactation.Unable or not willing to comply with the study protocol.
