All women admitted in Deptt of Obs/Gynae, KGMU,Lucknow,U.P.with eclampsia/severe pre eclampsia
1.Other causes of convulsions like epilepsy, cerebrovascular accidents, ruptured aneurysm, meningitis, encephalitis, cerebral tumors, hyperventilation syndrome, and metabolic abnormalities.
2.Thromboytopenia
3.Patients already treated outside with magnesium sulphate.
4.Those who present with documented CVA, renal failure (severe oliguria or anuria), massive pulmonary oedema, associated massive hemorrhage, DIC and shock (including sepsis).
5.Patient who has convulsions in front of us before giving loading dose (as that will be an indication for IV MgSO4.
