Current diagnosis of a major depression according to the ICD-10, this will be the following diagnoses:
F32.0 Mild depressive episode
F32.1 Moderate depressive episode
F32.2 Severe depressive episode without psychotic symptoms
F33.0 Recurrent depressive disorder, current episode mild
F33.1 Recurrent depressive disorder, current episode moderate
F33.2 Recurrent depressive disorder, current episode severe without psychotic symptoms
F34.1 Dysthymia (diagnosed by treating therapist or doctor); a score higher than 11 on Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II); sufficient German language skills.
Neurological disorder including epilepsy, diagnosed by a doctor; Acute suicidality (checked during admission); Diagnosis of a current substance dependency; Past or current psychotic episodes; Less than 8 years of school education.

Name Time Method Changes in scores on the Patient Health Questionnaire depression scale (PHQ-8), applied before the first training session and prior to the patients' discharge (i.e., after the entire training has been completed).
