Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\. duration of mechanical ventilation more than or equal to 48h
- •2\. age more than or equal to 18
- •3\. clinical suspicion of VAP based on two or more of the following criteria :
- •A. body temperature \> 38 C or \< 36 C
- •B. white blood cells \> 10000 or \< 4000
- •C. purulent tracheal secretions
- •D. PaO2/Fio2 \< 300
Exclusion Criteria
- •ongoing pneumonia
- •subcutaneous emphysema
- •thoracic dressings
