Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Patients of physical status I and II according to American Society of Anesthesiologists
  • •(ASA) who are without comorbidities ,scheduled for elective middle ear surgery under
  • •general anaesthesia.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Patients with severe obesity (body mass index greater than 35),
  • •renal insufficiency (serum creatinine more than 1.6 mg/dl),
  • •liver dysfunction (serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase/ serum glutamic pyruvic
  • •transaminase values more than 50% of normal),
  • •patients with difficult airways,
  • •cardiorespiratory abnormalities (Diabetes, Hypertension, New York Heart Association
  • •heart failure grades 3 and 4, obstructive and restrictive lung diseases),
  • •, pregnant, currently breast feeding women,
  • •history of sleep apnea planned / emergency surgeries in neck and oral cavity.
