Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • (1\) Patients with chronic lateral instability of the ankle joint diagnosed with subjective symptoms and objective diagnosis (more than 5 mm displacement on anterior draw test and more than 10 degrees of talus tilt angle)
  • (2\) patients who require surgery due to lateral instability of the ankle joint ((i) patients who do not improve conservative treatment of 3 months of medication and rehabilitation, (ii) patients with givingway and persistent pain, (iii) Patients who cannot maintain their ankle activity at the previous level for more than 6 months)
  • (3\) Patients who are expected to be followed up for 2 years after surgery
  • (4\) Patients who can have MRI before surgery and 1 year after surgery
  • (7\) Patients who agreed to the agreement

Exclusion Criteria

  • (1\) Fracture history on affected ankle joint
  • (2\) Past surgical history of affected ankle
  • (3\) Deformation of the ankle alignment due to arthritis, congenital diseases, etc.
  • (4\) History of other musculoskeletal and nervous system diseases
