Patients of any age with the confirmed diagnosis of hydrocephalus requiring VP shunt placement to improve patientsâ?? neurological outcome. The diagnosis of hydrocephalus will be based on clinical (features of raised ICP, enlarging head and dilated scalp veins in children, papilledema, etc) and radiological indicators of hydrocephalus (dilated ventricles) in CTs and/or MRIs.
ï?· Patients undergoing ventriculoperitoneal shunt
revision with a previous history of shunt infection.
ï?· Patients with deranged renal function test.
ï?· Patients with associated major comorbidities (e.g.,
congenital anomalies like Tetralogy of Fallot, renal agenesis, etc.) that need prolonged medical or surgical intervention because they may affect neurosurgical outcomes.
