1.Patients for up to 10 days of their PICU stay and outcomes at 60 days.
2.Patients 1 month to 18 years of age who are admitted to the PICU
3.Patients who require mechanical ventilation will be enrolled. Each patient will have an anticipated length of PICU stay of 3 days or more.
1.Subjects with a PICU length of stay <3 days
2.Patients who are not mechanically ventilated
3.Patients who are receiving compassionate care towards end of life, or are enrolled in a nutrition intervention trial will be excluded.

Weight status: weight-for-age Z-scores as determined by WHO standard growth criteria. <br/ ><br>2. Growth status: height-for-age Z-scores as determined by WHO standard growth criteria <br/ ><br>3.nutritional status: BMI or weight-for-height Z-scores as determined by WHO standard growth criteria. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: 10 days;1.ventilator-free days, the number of days not requiring ventilator support during hospitalizationTimepoint: 28 days;4. Glycemic control: evaluation of clinically obtained maximum and minimum blood glucose values and use of insulin.Timepoint: 10 days
