Inclusion Criteria

Preterm infants less than or equal to 28 weeks and/or less than or equal to 1 kg birth weight and recruited at the time of birth

Exclusion Criteria

1.History of clinical chorioamnionitis

2.Monochorionic twins/triplets/Quadruplets

3.Anomaly of the cord like true/False knots, Stricture

4.Funisitis of the cord

5.Major congenital anomalies in the infant like Gastroschisis, Exomphalos

6.Rh isoimmnisation

7. HIV positive mother

8.Hydrops fetalis

9.Cord Blood Banking

10.Placenta accreta/Marginal insertion/Battledore placenta/Velamentous insertion
