Elective cardiac surgery at Klinikum Oldenburg,
at minimum 18 years of age,
informed written consent
Age below 18, no written informed consent, non-elective patients, insufficient German language skills, pregnancy or childbirth within the last four weeks, preexisting medical conditions of: chronic pain, polyneuropathy, injured or otherwise compromised CNS, chronic use of opioids or benzodiazepines for longer than two weeks within the last six months, anatomical conditions which prevent NFRT measurement, any electric implants (i.e. ICD, pacemaker, neurostimulators), score at tuning fork test < 6
