Impact of end-of life care protocol to decrease endotracheal intubation in the emergency department

Physicians in the emergency room should make a diagnosis for a patient who is near death. After this patient type was identified, invasive procedures (in this study, endotracheal intubation) should be avoided to improve quality of life because they had no beneficial effects on this group and increased discomfort.

Inclusion Criteria

Patients who are at least 18 years old and have been identified as having an incurable chronic illness, severe dementia, advanced cancer, or bedridden patients.

Exclusion Criteria

Patients with incomplete of important data
Patients who presented with cardiac arrest
Traumatic patients
Patient with tracheotomy or intubation
