Clinical presentation, Treatment and Outcomes of COVID patients admitted at a Multi-specialty hospital in Chennai - COVID Registry.

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus which affects different people in different ways. Globally, this virus will continue to have a major impact on humans health. As the infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization, which includes symptoms such as fever, dry cough, and tiredness. However, older people and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness. Some of the serious symptoms include difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain or pressure, loss of speech or movement, eventually resulting in death (in some cases). Though only four months have elapsed since the emergence of COVID-19 only a few treatments have received global wide attention. Physicians worldwide have administered numerous treatments off-label to treat COVID  but identifying the full range of treatment is decisive for the treating physicians. So due to the lack of a precise treatment plan, this registry study data will help to understand the nature of disease more and provide an effective treatment plan for COVID-19 in the long term.
