Elective caesarean section
American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status grade I or II,
Gestation greater than 37 weeks
Singleton pregnancy
Non-smoker

Exclusion Criteria

Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus
Use of vasoactive medication including salbutamol, beta-blockers and thyroxine
In labour
BMI greater than 35.0
