Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Female gender, premenopausal
  • •\- Symptomatic, community\-acquired, uncomplicated urinary tract infection; defined according to the criteria of the current AWMF guideline (4\) BEFORE antibiotic therapy.
  • •\- Written informed consent to participate in the study.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •\- Evidence of more serious or other urogenital infection including fever, flank pain, renal pelvic palpitation, vaginal discharge, and vaginal pain.
  • •\- Pregnancy
  • •\- Diabetes mellitus and other relevant metabolic diseases
  • •\- Kidney disease
  • •\- Taking medications that affect the genitourinary tract
  • •\- Immunosuppression
