1.Consenting adult patients
2.Aged 18 – 60 yrs.
3.ASA (American society of anaesthesiologists) grade I and II
4.Posted for elective surgery under general anaesthesia.
5.Modified Mallampati (MMP) grade I and IIpatients.
6.Patients having full range of neck movements
A)Any cervical spine disease / fixation / operation
B)Mouthopening less = 2 finger width of patients
C)Facial anomalies maxillary hypoplasia, mandibular hypoplasia / hyperplasia
D)TMJ pathology- ankylosis or reducedmovement
E)Microstomia
F)Tumors of mouth and tongue
G)Macroglossia .
H)Teeth problems - edentulous,loose teeth, protruding upper incisors.
I)Pharynx pathology – hypertrophied tonsils adenoids,
J)Larynx Pathology- epiglottitis, laryngomalacia, tumor, congenital stenosis
K)Surgery involving oral cavity or throat.
