o acute cerebral disease,
o treatment on the Neuro-intensive care unit, Klinikum Kassel,
o patient`s with intracranial cerebral monitoring (Neurovent-P, Raumedic AG, Münchberg, Germany),
o Intracranial pressure (before therapy) < 20mmHg,
o patient consent form,
>= 18 years
Common exclusion criteria`s for manual lymphatic drainage
o congestive heart failure,
o acute inflammation (generalized (sepsis) or localized in the head-neck area,
o malignant tumor,
Furthermore there are those exclusion criteria`s:
o missing patient consent,
o patient`s age < 18 years,
o hemodynamic instability: Kriterium: shock index < 1 within the last 6 hours,
o acute pulonary insufficency: Horowitz Index < 200,
o Intracranial pressure (before) = 20mmHg,
o elevated intracranial pressure > 30mmHg within the last 6 hours,
o temperature > 38,5°C within the last 6 hours,
o glucose level < 60mg/dl or > 500 mg/dl within the last 6 hours,
o PH < 7,35 or > 7,45 within the last 6 hours,
o ICP-therapy within the last 6 hours (defined as: Elevation of analgosedation, Osmo-therapy, hypertonic NaCl, ventricular drainage, neurosurgery, TRIS buffer)

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method intracranial pressure (ICP) and cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP), measurements with a device, every minute for 15 minutes before treatment, during manual lymphatic drainage (duration 30 minutes), for 15 minutes after treatment (follow-up period)
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method heart frequency, mean arterial blood pressure Measurements every minute for 15 minutes before treatment, during manual lymphatic drainage (duration 30 minutes), for 15 minutes after treatment (follow-up period)
