Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\.Age \> 18 years old
- •2\.Do\-not\-intubate status
- •3\.Presented with respiratory distress meeting all of the following criteria
- •a.Pulse oximetry \< 90% when breathing at room air
- •b.Dyspnea (modified Borg scale ≥ 4\)
- •c.Signs of respiratory distress e.g. accessory muscle use
- •d.Respiratory rate ≥ 30 breaths/min
- •4\.Competent status: Kelly score \< 4
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\.Refusal of treatment
- •2\.Agitation or non\-cooperation
- •3\.Adverse reactions or contraindication to opioids
- •4\.Participants contraindicated for NHF such as excessive secretion, risk of aspiration
