This transesophageal echocardiography study was undertaken to assess left ventricular diastolic function during anesthesia maintenance by sevoflurane alone and sevoflurane + nerve block in elderly patients with diastolic dysfunction.

入选标准

  • This retrospective clinical observational study included 38 patients scheduled for transabdominal operation with American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I–II, age>60 years, who demonstrated a sinus rhythm and mitral valvular e velocity <10 cm/s and averaged (left ventricular)LV E/e>9cm/s indicating diastolic dysfunction1 with TEE evaluation after anesthesia induction.

排除标准

  • Patients with the following characteristics were excluded: infection at the puncture site, history of allergy to local anesthetics, preexisting neurological disorders, and/or preexisting coagulatory system disorders (recent bleeding from esophageal varicose veins or hypocoagulability with prothrombin time <20% or platelet count <3000/mL).
