1) Males and females aged 19 to 65 years
2) Diagnosed with appendicitis and scheduled for laparoscopic appendectomy
3) Provided with explanation regarding the purpose and characteristics of this study and agreed to written informed consent
1) Accompanying complications such as perforated appendicitis or diffuse peritonitis
2) Onset of surgical site infection(SSI) during admission
3) Regular use of painkillers or use of other pain relieving medicine on the day of the surgery
4) Cardiovascular disorders such as arrhythmia or using a pacemaker
5) Received acupuncture treatment within 6 weeks prior to surgery
6) Previous hypersensitive reaction to acupuncture treatment or other conditions that are incompatible with acupuncture treatment
7) Pregnant, breast-feeding or planning pregnancy during study period
8) Others that have been deemed inadequate for participation by research investigators
