The study included adult patients aged 18 and over with morbid obesity who underwent LSG in the Competence Center for Bariatric Surgery in Bad Driburg between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2021 for the purpose of weight loss, regardless of gender, BMI and weight or obesity-related comorbidities.
Patients who have already taken antibacterial substances for purposes other than PAP pre- or perioperatively or who stopped taking them more than 7 days preoperatively
Patients who have evidence of colonization with germs with known resistance to antibiotics (e.g. MRSA or MRGN)
Patients with immune deficiency
Patients in whom LSG was undertaken as a bariatric revision procedure (redo operations, e.g. gastric band removal with LSG).
Patients who have experienced other complications not related to surgical infection causing an increase in inflammatory parameters or antibiotic therapy and significantly alter the standardized course.
