Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Chronic tinnitus (duration \= 6 months)
- •\- Score of \= 18 in the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory, i.e. at least mild tinnitus distress
- •\- Somatic tinnitus diagnosed by the Somatic Tinnitus Questionnaire \- Short Version (STQ\-Short)
- •\- Fluent English skills
- •\- Owner of a smartphone with iOS or Android operating system
- •\- Ability to understand the research and willingness to use the ‘Milou’ mobile application on their smartphone
Exclusion Criteria
- •\- Diseases of the ear (e.g. otosclerosis, acoustic neuroma, Meniere’s disease)
- •\- Start of any other tinnitus related treatments, especially structured counselling, sound therapy or cognitive behavioural therapy in the past 3 months before the start of the study
- •\- Missing written informed consent
