Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Adult ( \>18yrs) type 2 diabetes mellitus patients Uncontrolled diabetes (HbA1c: 7\.5 \- 8\.5\)
  • •On stable treatment for the past 3 months

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Type 1 diabetes mellitus
  • •Elderly patients ( \>65 yrs)
  • •Patients on insulin therapy
  • •Pregnant or lactating women
  • •Known macrovascular complications
  • •GI manifestations of DM autonomic neuropathy
  • •Lactose intolerance Irritable Bowel syndrome Addictions such as alcohol Diabetic ketoacidosis Hyperglycemic hyperosmolar syndrome
