This study compares how a measure of oxidative balance relates to two health conditions: type 2 diabetes and stage III periodontitis. The results will show whether there is a connection between these conditions and oxidative balance.

•At least 3 to 4 pockets with:
1) = 6 mm residual PPD
2) =5 mm CAL
3) =50% radiographic bone loss
4)Bleeding on Probing ( >40%)
( In atleast two different quadrants)
1.received periodontal treatment within the previous three months.
2.systemic conditions other than diabetes for example immunodeficiency, malignancy, bone metabolic diseases/disorders, renal or thyroid dysfunction, radiation or immunosuppressive therapy and gastrointestinal diseases were enlisted in the exclusion criteria.
3. pregnant or lactating.
