Brief Summary

In today’s era it’s an alarming fact that the incidence of Manyastambha is increasing due to changes in occupational lifestyles, positional variations by depending upon several gadgets.A significant portion of the general population, ranging from 4.8%-79.5%, with a lifetime prevalence possibly reaching 86.8% has pain or stiffness on the neck.Especially the adult age group has a prime incidence.In oldage group it may be due to wear and tear of the cervical vertebrae.Modern medicine typically relies on NSAIDs, corticosteroids, and muscle relaxants for treatment, considering surgery for severe cases.

Ayurveda gives emphasis on Swedana, particularly In Manyastambha Ruksa Sweda, is highlighted while addressing Vata-Kaphaja Vikaras. Various forms of Swedana, including Nadi Sweda are utilized. In General practice Moolas and Patras are used in the form of Kashayakalpana.Many of these plants take years to mature into trees, Harvesting their roots directly could potentially lead to the extinction of these plants however the utilization of leaves in Nadi Sweda extends to other treatment as well. Moreover solely depending on one type of Kalpana might hinder our ability to fully understand the various effects that other Kalpanas can offer, Hence there is a need for easily accessible, practical, and effective alternatives. Masha and Kulatha exhibit inherent qualities of Swedana and conveniently feasible

In the context of Nadi sweda apart from Kasaya Kalpanas many other  Dravadravyas are mentioned for both Snigdha and Ruksa Sweda.Amla Kanji is one among that which possesses properties such as Ruksa, Teeksna, Suksma, Ushna,Vatakaphahara and it is Shothahara in nature making it may be suitable for Nadi Sweda therapy.

Inclusion Criteria
  • Participants having stiffness, pain and restricted range of movement of neck.
  • 20-60 years of either gender.
  • Participants who are willing to sign the informed consent.
Exclusion Criteria
  • Known cases of Hepatitis B, Herpes, psoriasis and cystic fibrosis.
  • Fractures of cervical vertebrae.
