The inclusion criterion is the clinical diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder (DCL-ZWA; Döpfner et al., 2008). The diagnostic criteria are assessed using the diagnostic checklist for OCD (DCL-ZWA) from DISYPS-II (Döpfner et al. 2008). The total score of the German version of the Children's Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (CY-BOCS; Goodman et al., 1986; Berg, 1989; German adaptation Döpfner, 1999; see also Goletz & Döpfner, 2018) rating scale (CY-BOCS-D) must be at least 16 (moderate severity of the obsessive-compulsive symptoms). In the case of multimorbid symptoms, the obsessive-compulsive disorder must be the most serious (clinical judgement). In addition, there must be an indication for outpatient treatment. If medication is needed, then probably no change in medication is necessary during study participation. Patients and parents had to provide written informed consent for study participation.
Exclusion criteria are pervasive developmental disorders, a pronounced personality disorder and other mental disorders that are more prominent than the OCD and an IQ <=79 (CFT-20).
