1.All patients belonging to American Society of Anesthesiologists(ASA) physical status grade I & II.
2.Age between 18-65 years.
3.Those scheduled for elective laparotomy lasting < 4hrs duration
Patients who refuse to give consent to participate in the study.
Patients aged < 18 years and > 65 years.
Chronic opioid users.
Those with pre-existing pain syndrome.
Those with severe cardiovascular (New York Heart Association class III or IV), pulmonary and renal disease.
Inability to communicate and understand numerical rating scale (NRS) and QOR-40 scale.
Patients with known hypersensitivity to the drugs used.
Pregnant and lactating mothers.
Patients with known history of psychiatric illness and chronic drug or alcohol abuse.
