1. Age over 18 years old.
2. Healthy status (American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Class I and II).
3. Required removal of both impacted mandibular third molar.
4. Needed bone removal and/or tooth sectioning for removal of the mandibular third molars.
1. History of allergy to medications used in this study.
2. Pregnancy or breast feeding.
3. History of systemic disease or conditions contraindicated to magnesium.
4. Presence of ongoing pain originated from mandibular third molar or orofacial region on the day of surgery.
5. History of analgesic intake within 1 week prior to surgery.
6. History of medication or supplement intake that can affect body magnesium level.
7. Psychiatric disorder.
8. Being unable to record postoperative outcomes and attend follow-up appointments.
9. Presence of signs and symptoms of local and/or systemic infection or associated pathology.
10. Removal of more than one third molar at the same sitting.
