Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •all patients posted for mitral valve surgery

Exclusion Criteria

  • •a. History of symptomatic cerebrovascular disease with residual deficit,
  • •b. History of psychiatric illness (any clinical diagnoses requiring therapy)
  • •c. Significant hepatic insufficiency (liver function tests \>1\.5times the upper limit of normal),
  • •d. Significant renal insufficiency (creatinine levels \>2 mg/dl)
  • •e. Patients with primary pulmonary disease will be excluded by history, physical examination and radiological investigation
  • •f. Patients with musculoskeletal involvement of the chest and thoracic spine were not taken.
  • •g. Patient refusal
