- •All patients who have pus successfully aspirated from a peritonsillar abscess, age over 16, minimum body weight of 40kg.
- •Are the trial subjects under 18? no

- •F.1.2 Adults (18-64 years) yes
- •F.1.2.1 Number of subjects for this age range
- •F.1.3 Elderly (>=65 years) yes

排除标准
- •Children less than 16 may not be able to consent themselves to the study so will not be included. A body weight of less than 40kg means the proposed dose of 8mg dexamethasone is too high. Pregnancy, inability to consent (such as not able to communicate effectively in english), current symptomatic peptic ulcer.
