This study aims to compare the effect of sprint interval training vs resistance type high intensity interval training on heart rate variability, cardiorespiratory fitness, performance, anaerobic capacity and some physiological measures in volleyball athletes. .
A total of 40 volleyball athletes will be randomly allocated in the groups - SIT, R-HIIT and control group. The SIT group will perform the repeated bouts of short duration maximal intensity sprint exercise, while the R-HIIT will undergo a high intensity resistance based interval training and control group will perform their regular exercise. Both intervention groups will train three times per week for a period of 4 week in addition to their regular volleyball training.
Outcome measures include
HRV
Aerobic capacity
Jump performance
Anaerobic capacity
Physiological parameters such as BP, saturation, HRR, RR
Will be assessed at the baseline and after completion of 4 week intervention. This study is designed as randomized controlled intervention trail with a parallel group design.

入选标准
- •University level volleyball athletes, male and or female, aged eighteen to thirty years, who are undergoing regular training at least three times per week, free from diagnosed cardiovascular conditions or chronic illnesses, medically fit to participate in high intensity exercise, and willing to provide written informed consent.
排除标准
- •Athletes with diagnosed cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, or any medical condition that may affect cardiovascular fitness or exercise tolerance.
- •Athletes with recent musculoskeletal injuries or conditions that limit participation in resistance or high intensity exercise training.
- •Athletes currently using stimulants, beta blockers, or other medications known to influence heart rate variability or physical performance.
- •Athletes unwilling to participate or unable to complete the training or assessment procedures.
