入选标准

  • The participants who have experienced spontaneous pain at upper trapezius muscle for 3-6 month and that at least one MTrPs available in the upper trapezius muscle
  • Have pain intensity during past 3 month with visual analogue scale (0-10cmVAS) during 1-4cm (mild pain) to 5-6 cm (moderate pain).
  • Have pain pressure threshold with a pressure algometer in excess of 4kg/cm2. Not have inflammation and neurological sign such as numbness, burning pain, etc. Interviews and physical examination were performed by physiotherapists.
  • The participants who do not have myofascial therapy within the past month.
  • Not have any disease that limited exercise or chronic disease that must be treated with medicine more than three months, such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and Hypercholesterolemia.
  • No disability or limited range of motion of upper limb. Physical examinations were performed by physiotherapists.
  • Participants are able to verbally communicate and agree to join the program.

排除标准

  • A history of underlying diseases or disorder (for example, herniated disc, spondylosis, spondylolysis, spondylolisthesis, whiplash injury, cervical spine surgery, skin disease, Muscle diseases, Neurological deficits, inflammatory arthritis.
  • Have psychiatric disorder or unable to verbally communicate.
  • Have contraindication of stretching
  • - a bony block limits joint motion.
  • - a recent fracture, and bony union is incomplete.
  • - Acute inflammatory or infectious process (heat and swelling) or soft tissue healing could be disrupted in the tight tissues and surrounding region.
  • - Sharp, acute pain with joint movement or muscle elongation.
  • - A hematoma or other indication of tissue trauma is observed.
  • - Hypermobility already exists.
  • - Shortened soft tissues enable a patient with paralysis or severe muscle weakness to perform specific functional skills otherwise not possible.
  • Unable to commit to the full course of intervention and follow-up.
