简要总结

  1. Research question: Can unresolved grief related to the diagnosis of a child with cystic fibrosis (CF) be resolved with education and/or insight oriented psychotherapy? 2. Background information: Diagnosis of chronic disease in a child can result in unresolved grief (UG) in parents. Such UG can be prevalent in parents of children with cystic fibrosis 3. Participant characteristics: parents of children with CF 4. Key results: UG is a significant burden for families affected by CF. Provision of disease related education and psychological support, regardless of sequence, can result in resolution of grief. 5. Limitations: the study mostly included mothers. There is a need to do similar research with more fathers. - Such unresolved grief can be present more than a decade after diagnosis and be associated with stress and anxiety
