Inclusion Criteria

Patients of either sex scheduled to undergo elective surgical procedures under general anesthesia and endotracheal intubation.

Age 20 years to 50 years

Weight 50 kg to 80 kg

Patients of ASA grade 1 and 2.

Patient willing to give the consent.

Exclusion Criteria

Patients with history of known allergic to study drugs.History of consumption of antihypertensive drugs, sedatives, Hypnotics and antidepressants preoperatively.Pre-existing cardiovascular disease, significant respiratory, renal and hepatic disorder.History of drugs or alcohol abuse.

Pregnant patients

Patients requiring rapid sequence induction of anaesthesia

Anticipated difficult intubation

To determine the difference in changes in haemodynamic responses (heart rate, SBP, DBP, MAP) from baseline to different time interval in the two groups.Timepoint: 0, 1,2,3,4,5,10,15 min after intubation
