1. ASA grade I and II

2. Patients undergoing elective surgeries under general anesthesia

Exclusion Criteria

1. Patients with ASA grade III or more

2. Patients on beta blockers

3. Patients with allergy to study drug

To compare the effect of IV esmolol & IV lidocaine on hemodynamic variables heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), mean arterial presuure (MAP) and saturation (SpO2) during extubationTimepoint: Baseline (before administration of reversal agent), post administration of reversal agent (TR), post administration of study drug (T0- after 1 minute of administering reversal agent), for every minute for the first 5 minutes post administration of study drug (T1 to T5), 7 minutes after administering study drug (T7) and finally at 10 minutes (T10). Time of extubation will also be noted.
