Inclusion Criteria

Patients of either gender,

Aged between 18 to 65 years,

Belonging to ASA-PS I and II,

Undergoing elective laparoscopic surgeries requiring general anaesthesia and endotracheal intubation.

Exclusion Criteria

Patients not giving consent.

Patients with suspected allergy to study drugs (Esmolol).

Patient with difficult airway.

Patients with history of bronchospasm.

Patients with history of bronchial asthma.

Patients with history of cardiovascular diseases

Primary Outcome Measures

heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial blood pressureTimepoint: before administering the drug, and after administration, just prior to extubation, then 1 ,2, 3 ,4, 5 minute and at 10 minutes following extubation
