Brief Summary

**Aprospective, randomised, double blind, clinical study to compare effectivenessof bilateral ultrasound guided TAP block with 20 ml each side of 0.125%bupivacaine vs 0.1875% ropivacaine aftersubarachnoid block in all parturients aged between 19 and 40 years, heightbetween 150 and 170cms weighing between 50 and 90 kgs belonging to ASA Physicalstatus II undergoing elective lower segment caesarean section with Pfannenstielincision for a duration of 6 months at BGS Global Institute of MedicalSciences, Bangalore.**

Inclusion Criteria
  • 1.ASA Physical status II parturients.
  • 2.Parturients undergoing elective lower segment caesarean section using Pfannenstiel incision under subarachnoid blockade.
  • 3.Height of parturient: 150 cms to 170 cms.
  • 4.Weight of parturient 50 kgs to 90 kgs.
Exclusion Criteria
  • 1.Patient refusal or unable to give written informed consent.
  • E.g.: psychiatric patients 2.Patients with known allergy to study drugs.
