Inclusion Criteria
Patients diagnosed with and pharmacologically treated for essential AHT, who were literate, in full possession of their mental faculties and willing to be monitored for 6 months, were included
Exclusion Criteria
Patients with arrythmia or secondary AHT or who were pregnant were excluded
