Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Women between the ages of 18 and 60; with a BMI greater than or equal to 25 kg/m2; who are not currently engaged in any other method of weight control

Exclusion Criteria

  • •The exclusion criteria were: current pharmacological treatment for obesity; have serious medical or psychiatric conditions; insulin\-dependent diabetes; be pregnant, breastfeeding or intending to become pregnant during the study period; have untreated hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism; practicing mindfulness, meditation, yoga or similar practices in the previous 6 months (with formal practice at least once a week); having had any type of bariatric surgery
